There is something about being "on the horse". I find it difficult to explain this, but there is a mental shift and reset that happens in me where I am "on it". Making the right decisions, seeing progress, headed in the correct direction and building momentum towards it. It's the stacking of day upon day of good decisions that show results. It takes time, and I need to be on it for a while. The game is to be on it for as long as possible.
I recognized this concept as basically "how long can I stay in ketosis". I think that is really it. Eating right makes my gut right, which makes my mind right. It builds momentum; the longer I eat right the better I feel and the less I want to eat poorly and make bad decisions.
STAY THE COURSE.
